Back in 1995 I lost my first business!
Even after I dug my family out of the financial mess ($60,000 in debt and two cars repossessed) it ate away at my soul.
I felt as if I got my ass kicked on the playground by someone I should have done the ass kicking to.
Actually that’s not accurate, I felt like I got my ass kicked by the nerd and it never sat well with me.
The only problem was that I let it stop me from trying again for 16 years.
Somehow, prior to that moment, I let my past discourage me from the old “try, try again” thing!”
Today, I own a Sales Training Company that dwarfs my first business!
I’ve also had the same sad dance with weight loss.
I’ve tried to do it and when I’ve failed there’s that sh*tty inner voice that says “I don’t know why you keep trying, you always fail. Stay down Castain you’ll only get your ass kicked again!”
This week, I decided to face this bully and get back to the gym and get my eating habits back on track.
The past doesn’t have to dictate our future in fact . . .
It can inspire it!
I write this today, as someone who, just like you, struggles at times but;
Has the belief and audacity to keep getting up when life knocks me on my ass!
I also would like to think that I have the smarts to realize why I was knocked to the ground in the first place.
Otherwise you become a glorified punching bag.
