One Of The Toughest Things I Ever Had To Overcome In Sales Was My Ego

Posted April 22, 2017

kind of a big deal

One of the toughest things I ever had to overcome in sales was my ego!

Back then you couldn’t offer me advice or direction, and I sure as hell wasn’t going to ask for it. I mean why don’t I just bow down and acknowledge that you’re awesome and I’m lame!

My wake up call was losing everything I had (my first business, my cars and my pride), and having to start over again, working a night shift to support my wife and (at that time) two small children.

I remember feeling like a total idiot for putting my family through something that could have been avoided;

If I could have only asked my ego to leave the room long enough to ask people for help.

I don’t mean financial help;

I mean having the balls to ask people, who were getting the results I wanted;

How they were doing it!

Fast forward several years;

It took me the better part of a decade to pay off my debts and move my family forward.

That’s when I hired my first coach.

I needed someone who knew the “road” I was travelling, and would direct me so I would never become lost again.

I needed someone I could bounce ideas off who wasn’t going to worry about hurting my feelings, or losing me as a client if (God forbid), I disagreed with them from time to time.

I also needed someone who was going to call me out (respectfully) when I;

Made Excuses

Procrastinated

Slacked

Hiring a coach has saved me a lot of unnecessary setbacks and has made an absolutely HUGE impact on my results.

Asking for help can sometimes be misinterpreted as weakness when in fact;

Its the ultimate show of strength!

I’m sending you this because I thought it might be time to suggest that we spend some “one on one” time together.

Here’s what I’d like for you to do;

Click on this link and take a look at my one on one coaching program.

I’m going to tell you, flat out, that it ISN’T for everyone. And no, that isn’t a psychological selling tactic, it happens to be the truth!

In fact, here’s what one of my coaching clients (Pete Primeau) recently said;

“Paul isn’t for everyone. If you are extremely sensitive, Paul isn’t your guy. But if you’re willing to challenge your old habits, and really work to implement new action items, Paul will make you a better boss and a better salesperson.”

Note: You can read Pete’s full testimonial by visiting my LinkedIn profile.

My approach to coaching and my style are very different and quite frankly my fees might NOT fit your budget.

That’s why I’d like for you to take the first step and see for yourself by clicking HERE.

Once you do that, and if you think there might be a match, email me (paul@yoursalesplaybook.com ) and let’s set up a FREE 20 minute call to see if this is something that would work for the both of us.

And please know that;

I’d be honored to help you reach (and exceed) your goals!
