The “4 On The Fourth” Approach To Generating MORE Opportunities

My friend Michael Conti has a really cool thing he does every month and it’s called;

“4 On The Fourth”

Here’s what he does;

Every month, on or around the fourth, he has a conference call with 4 people from his LinkedIn network.

It’s a great way to introduce people who should know each other, share resources, NETWORK, and add value to your network in ways that others simply AREN’T doing!

Quite frankly, I think a lot of people miss the part about introducing and referring others in their network, but who the hell am I to judge.

Here’s how you can set something like this up;

  • Secure a FREE video conference service like Zoom or if you’re Zoomed out and/or your home looks like a hotel room after a bunch of rock stars trashed it, try a FREE conference call service like UberConference or FreeConferenceCall.com.
  • Identify 4 people from your network. I like to use this is a next step for those I’ve already spoken with and I don’t like more than 4-5 others because it can become chaotic.
  • Send everyone an email similar to this one;

As many of you know, I’m a big advocate of moving all these “virtual” relationships to real time.

One of the ways I do this is to gather people from my network (no more than 4 at time) get them all on a conference call, and have a good, old fashioned discussion.

  • Send the calendar invite and agenda.
  • When you have the meeting, make it your mission to make others on that call look like rock stars. Facilitate, ask good follow up questions, get the group talking and sharing ideas.
  • Send a Thank You email to all within 24 hours. Consider attaching a recap of key points, the resources that were shared and everyone’s social networking contact info (get permission when you are on the call).
  • If there is additional value you can provide on an individual basis, reach out. This is a great way to let them know that you were listening!

Do this consistently every month, and within a year, you’ll have 48 more people who know you well enough to;

Refer you, provide warm intros, share your updates, and perhaps buying from you.

Last, but not least, this is going to resonate with people right more than usual because networking events have been shut down for months due to Covid-19.
