Why Questions Are The Answer When Dealing With A Hesitant Buyer!

Sales reps have a bad habit of going into “convince mode” when decision makers are reluctant to pull the trigger!

Questions, really good questions, might be a better answer, and here’s why;

Great questions;

  • Help you to REALLY understand why they feel the way they do.
  • Bring a painful user experience (or the experience in not using your type of widget) to the surface.
  • Lead them on a path to self – discovery instead of you having to sell them. A hesitant buyer doesn’t want to be sold, they need to buy! Actually, who the hell wants to be sold?
  • Demonstrate your expertise and create credibility that can instill confidence.
  • Keep you in control of the discussion and allow you to take the discussion to places that are the most productive.

Asking BETTER questions (throughout the entire sales cycle) will help you move beyond it’s basic utility of providing answers.

Think about how you might leverage the power of BETTER questions next time someone hesitates to buy. Bonus points if you brainstorm this with your sales team!
